“If you know Bruno, you know I’ve got a soft spot for dogs. Every Dog Matters, the rescue organization where I found him, reached out to me again about a 3-year-old Pitbull they’d just saved from the streets. This poor guy was in desperate need of heartworm treatment. When I met him at a fundraiser in the park, I knew we had to help. He was such a sweetheart!

“So, my charity, Everybody Loves Bruno, stepped in to fund his treatment. But here’s where things got tricky. The vet discovered his heart was enlarged, and the treatment could be fatal if he wasn’t in a calm environment. And let’s face it, rescue centers aren’t exactly quiet. I couldn't let that happen. So, I transformed my third-floor bedrooms into a peaceful haven for him. He had his own room, bed, toys, even an entertainment system and a separate air conditioner to keep him comfortable. To avoid any tension, I made sure he and Bruno stayed separated. Each day, I’d take care of them both, separately, during my lunch break. If work kept me late, Christine’s daughter would come over and spend some quality time with both of them.

“Over time, Roman grew stronger and healthier. We showered him with love, treats, and before long, we found him a forever home with another volunteer. He’s doing wonderfully with his treatment and living his best life! Oh, I should mention, I changed his name from Edison to Roman. Just felt more fitting, don’t you think?”
